On August 12 in the Uman district, the AgroWarm team carried out a test launch of the pellet heat generator on a Mecmar S-24 grain dryer. Before modernization, the farm operated on diesel fuel — the cost per ton-percent kept rising, so the manager decided to switch to wood pellets.

«Fuel is the key expense. With pellets, the calculation is simpler and cheaper. The decision was made purely based on economics», the farm manager says.

During the test, wheat with 16% moisture was dried. The heat generator’s electronics maintained the set 70 °C with ±2–3 °C accuracy, which the operator confirmed at the control panel.

«We set 70 — and we see 70-72 °C. It works steadily, without temperature swings», the operator notes.

To connect to the S-24, engineers relocated the standard motor relative to the fan and used a new adapter housing. Similar solutions have already been implemented for S-34, S-43 and S-55, which now allows easy scaling of the system.

«The new connection module is now standardized. For Mecmar, we match the exact original size», an AgroWarm engineer adds.

According to the farm’s assessment, when drying corn with a 10% moisture reduction at up to 100 t/day, the savings compared to diesel are significant — large daily costs are eliminated and remain within the enterprise for development.
