On 4 October 2023, at the FarmFarms agricultural enterprise with a modular grain dryer, the AgroWarm pellet heat generators were inspected in their second operating season. Currently, they are drying soybeans with ~20% moisture: the control panel is set to 85 °C, actual temperature 84 °C, fluctuations — ±1–2 °C.

«Compared to gas — practically no difference. It even runs calmer», says the chief operator.

Last winter the system worked steadily in temperatures down to −10 °C. Initial warm-up after ignition takes about 20 minutes (as the mass heats up), and from standby to full mode — 3–5 minutes.

«With good pellets we had consumption around 1.1 kg per ton-percent. In frost and with low-quality pellets it went up to ~2.5 kg — we installed a vibrating screen, switched to cleaner pellets, and stabilized the system», the operator adds.

They also emphasized the effect of properly tuned dryer aerodynamics: after replacing fans and adjusting airflow channels, heating became more uniform and transitions to standby stopped. No issues with smoke or smell.

«No smoke and no smell. Experiments with “other fuels” showed it’s not our way — pellets are clean and stable».

In terms of productivity: this season sunflower was dried on one module, removing ~3% moisture (from ~10% to ~7%) — reaching ~360–380 t/day.

Maintenance is minimal: with high-quality pellets — cleaning the separation chamber once every 2–3 days; with poorer fuel — daily. Overall, the heat generators are currently not running at full capacity — reserve remains.
