At one of the agricultural enterprises in the Lebedyn district of the Sumy region, two Zafrani grain dryers are installed: one runs on diesel fuel, and the other on wood pellets using a Ukrainian-made heat generator by «AgroWarm».
During filming, the air temperature was minus 6°C, and the corn moisture was 26%. Both dryers operated steadily, showing no difference in drying speed or quality.
«There is no difference in drying time. Both the corn and the temperature remain the same», noted the company representative.
The set drying temperature was 150°C, while the actual operating temperature fluctuated between 145–146°C, demonstrating automation accuracy. At the same time, the pellet heat generator operates much quieter than the diesel version and does not produce the characteristic fuel smell.
«The only difference is in the money. The daily saving is about 70,000 UAH with the same productivity», added the AgroWarm engineer.
The enterprise plans to eventually convert both dryers to pellet fuel, as the heat generators demonstrate stable performance even in freezing weather.
